About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Junior Marine Surveyor to join our team at Rina Piraeus Team. As a Junior Marine Surveyor, you will play a key role in ensuring the technical, environmental, and safety sustainability of our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Professional Application: Apply knowledge of rules, regulations, and industry concepts within our framework to ensure compliance and excellence.
  • Inspection and Reporting: Conduct routine surveys on classed ships, platforms, or marine structures, and prepare technically accurate and timely reports of inspections and surveys.
  • File Maintenance: Maintain survey files in an orderly and up-to-date manner within your assigned area of responsibility.
  • Continuous Learning: Maintain an active awareness of new working methods and developments affecting the technical scope of assigned responsibilities, and engage in ongoing learning to enhance knowledge and skills relevant to surveying practices.
  • Problem-Solving: Recommend new approaches to problems encountered, seeking guidance and supervision from more experienced surveyors.
  • Compliance Surveys: Conduct routine surveys on classed ships, platforms, or marine structures for compliance with classification and statutory requirements, following the guidance and supervision of a Surveyor, Senior Surveyor, or Principal Surveyor.
  • Collaboration and Guidance: Collaborate with and seek guidance from more experienced surveyors to ensure accurate and effective survey outcomes, and participate in team activities and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
  • Quality Assurance: Contribute to maintaining the quality of surveying work under the guidance of experienced surveyors, and assist in the adherence to established standards and procedures.
  • Client Interaction: Engage with clients as directed by more experienced surveyors, contributing to problem-solving within the area of expertise.
  • Professional Development: Actively participate in training programs and developmental activities to progress toward becoming a fully competent surveyor.
  • Ethical Conduct: Uphold the highest ethical standards in all professional interactions, ensuring integrity, transparency, and fairness in survey processes.
Requirements
  • Education: Master's Degree in Naval Engineering.
  • Qualifications: Newly graduate or with up to 3 years experience in the engineering or survey fields within the marine industry or other applicable industry to their specialization.
  • Language: Proficiency in the English language commensurate with the scope of classification, statutory certification, related services, and before assignment, with their future work.
  • Skills: Ability to develop a working knowledge of RINA Rules, Guides, statutory regulations, and related instructions, as well as the RINA Employee Safety Policy. Ability to understand engineering plans and have a basic knowledge of shipbuilding practices and ship operations. Ability to perform new building surveys and ship in service surveys.
