About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our team at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT) in Genoa, Italy. The successful candidate will be involved in the development and testing of software and control infrastructure for a new legged robotic platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop software infrastructures and architectures for robotics and automation systems
  • Collaborate with the research team to develop and test software and control infrastructure for the robotic platform
  • Work on the development of real-time embedded systems and device drivers for customized devices
  • Contribute to the integration and validation of software on real robots or automation systems
  • Participate in the development of diagnostic and configuration software for robots or custom automation systems
Requirements
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in software development for robotics and automation systems
  • Excellent working knowledge of C, C++, and Python programming
  • Knowledge of Linux OS and related programming environments
  • Experience with real-time operating systems such as Xenomai or other RT OS
  • Strong knowledge of GIT distributed revision control system
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, with a proactive attitude
