Job Summary

As a Medical Science Liaison at BioCryst Pharmaceuticals, you will be a key member of our Medical Affairs team, responsible for building and maintaining relationships with healthcare providers in the assigned region. Your expertise in rare disease therapeutic areas will be essential in providing credible and unbiased scientific information to support our medical and commercial strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of BioCryst's products and current medical/scientific research and publications.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key healthcare providers, thought leaders, and patient organizations in the assigned region.
  • Represent BioCryst at scientific and medical events, providing presentations and insights to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide feedback and insights to internal stakeholders on field interactions and discussions with healthcare professionals.
  • Support the development and management of clinical and scientific communications, including publications, conference data, and educational materials.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of advisory board meetings and provide support in the preparation and presentation of special activities.
  • Support commercial team functions by facilitating internal training and scientific material review, assisting with speaker programs, and providing competitive insights into therapeutic area planning.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of related work experience in clinical, managed care, or industry experience, with prior rare disease experience preferred.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with influential thought leaders.
  • Ability to think strategically and apply knowledge and analytical skills in a highly regulated environment.
  • Advanced degree (Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D) optional.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with professional maturity, confidence, and competence.
  • Ability to travel and possess a valid driver's license.
