Aasa, The School Superintendents Association is a renowned professional organization dedicated to empowering public school system leaders and advocating for equitable access to quality education. We are seeking an accounting intern with real-world experience to join our team during the 2025 spring semester.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in accounting, finance, or business administration to practical work scenarios. You will assist with various aspects of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and cash processing.

As an intern, you can expect to earn $20 per hour and work approximately 20 hours a week when your school is in session. While some remote work may be allowed, you will also have the chance to work in an office environment. **Key Responsibilities:**

  • Assist with day-to-day accounting operations
  • Prepare journal entries and complete account reconciliations for key balance sheet accounts
  • Support the weekly deposit process and enter related data into the membership database and accounting system
  • Enter invoices into Microsoft Dynamics
  • Monitor daily bank account and PayPal transactions, preparing related entries
  • Reconcile staff credit card balances
  • Complete ad hoc vendor applications
  • Respond to internal and external requests for financial information

**Qualifications:**

  • Pursuing a degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

**Estimated Salary:** $4,000 - $5,000 based on 20 hours/week at $20/hour
