ABOUT THIS ROLE

As a key member of our Factories Purchase function, the Buyer will be responsible for

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Processing purchase orders, negotiating with suppliers, creating and maintaining inventory, quality assurance and liaising with Production & Operations teams and management.
  2. Building strong relations and frequent contacts with staff across departments to forecast the needs of the business and make purchase decisions based on demand.
  3. Researching, selecting, and purchasing quality products and materials, building relationships with suppliers, and negotiating the best pricing.
  4. Processing requisitions and updating management on the status of orders, updating inventory, and ensuring that stock levels are kept at appropriate levels.
  5. Arranging transport of goods and tracking orders to ensure timely delivery, analyzing market trends, and applying this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions.
  6. Coordinating with the inventory team, management, and stockroom as required, assessing the quality of stock received, and escalating any discrepancies to suppliers and management.
  7. Ensuring compliance with Panasonic's Policies, Processes, and Procedures and partaking in all corporate requirements, including ISM, CSR, Antibribery & Corruption, and Competition Law.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree in financial or economic studies or similar education and experience.
  • 3-4 years of commercial finance experience, preferably in a factory environment with a solid understanding of financial statements and bookkeeping.
  • Excellent level of English, with Italian and French skills also appreciated.
  • Ability to interpret data and interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Very good knowledge of Microsoft applications, especially Excel.
  • Critical thinking and negotiation skills, strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Occasional domestic and/or international travel.
