Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Site Operations Director to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the overall health and performance of our data center campus, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and support. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage the operations and engineering functions at the property, ensuring safe and effective operation of machinery and building systems.
  2. Lead a team of Critical Facilities Engineers and/or manager-level positions, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
  3. Interface with Reliability Engineering, Design Engineering & Construction, and other resources to manage the overall campus.
  4. Manage workflow, work order management, training plans, event management, customer communications, hiring, and performance management of the team.
  5. Ensure availability and capacity targets are achieved and maintained for data centers and technical infrastructure.
  6. Encourage a team-oriented environment through positive feedback and recognition.
  7. Hold employees accountable for preventive and corrective maintenance of facilities equipment.
  8. Ensure customers are satisfied and issues are resolved quickly and efficiently.
  9. Understand engineering and operational aspects of building systems and recognize performance deficiencies.
  10. Ensure adequate training of facility engineers and other personnel on electrical/mechanical equipment, system maintenance, repairs, and operation.
  11. Implement and apply Vantage policies on site relating to safety, security, quality, and information systems.
  12. Contribute to crisis management and documentation of site processes.
  13. Collaborate with Vantage Operations at the country level on maintenance activities.
  14. Demonstrate and implement best practices for smooth customer project implementation.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Technical background or equivalent experience.
  2. 10+ years of experience in facility/plant engineering and maintenance supervision, strongly preferred.
  3. 10+ years of direct managerial experience and interpersonal skills, strongly preferred.
  4. Experience in Data Center or Critical Infrastructure industries, strongly preferred.
  5. Experience and knowledge of physical security in a critical environment, strongly preferred.
  6. Able to plan, organize, and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
  7. Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to communicate internally and externally.
  8. Proven track record of managing through periods of significant change.
  9. Assertive and confident with a high level of personal and professional credibility.
  10. Excellent planning and organization skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities.
  11. Ability to lead and engage people in a fast-changing environment.
  12. Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and influence at senior levels.
  13. Work effectively in collaboration to achieve shared goals and deliver business objectives.
  14. Confident decision maker, even with incomplete information.
  15. Candidates must possess reliable transportation for reporting to site or emergencies.
  16. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft desktop and server operating systems, and Microsoft Office 365.
  17. Travel is expected to be less than 5-10%.
  18. Italian and English language required.
