Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations, providing support, guidance, design engineering, and project planning while ensuring IBX Operations Security consistently meets performance benchmarks for customer satisfaction. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to fulfill business requirements regarding security matters. Manage the operation and maintenance of security systems, coordinating with manufacturers and suppliers for necessary support.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Effectively supervise facility maintenance for all security systems, directing and training the operations team to achieve service availability objectives of 99.999% or higher. This level of availability necessitates proficient management of personnel activities through training and comprehensive knowledge of critical data center systems and their redundancy features. Oversee Security Systems Capacity. Manage workloads of Operations teams to ensure timely customer service delivery. Administer QA/QC and employee training processes to provide high-quality outputs and consistently meet customer expectations. Support supervisors, security engineers, and IBX site security personnel in testing, project management, and incident resolution. Maintain consistency in the administration and enforcement of Equinix security policies and standard operating procedures, while continuously reviewing, analyzing, and enhancing policy documents. Provide 24/7, 365-day emergency response as needed for security system failures, alarms, customer escalations, severe weather, etc., arranging qualified backups when unavailable. Conduct timely investigations of incidents and security breaches, ensuring effective communication, escalation, and remedial action plans as necessary. Collaborate closely with Research and Design teams for the development and implementation of new security technologies and the successful construction of new Equinix data centers. Manage multiple concurrent security projects while fostering a collaborative team environment. Plan, coordinate, review budgets, and allocate resources to complete security projects and maintenance within the Data Center. Effectively manage both Capital and Operational expenditures, ensuring adequate business control. Provide coordination and support to Equinix Security Global Contractors. Oversee contractor operations to ensure compliance with Equinix's standards, KPIs, and SLAs.

Experience in matrix organizations and global environments. Embody and promote the Equinix culture and values. Exhibit influencing skills to achieve solutions and navigate challenging stakeholder situations.

Required Knowledge and Experience

Minimum years of experience in facility maintenance, operations, and management, with a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent. Supervisory experience leading multiple trade disciplines. Comprehensive understanding of Data Center security infrastructure and networking. Operational experience with data communication issues, including physical security, resource management, capacity planning, monitoring, and performance.

Skills and Attributes

Strong analytical skills and hands-on problem-solving abilities. Detail-oriented with a heightened sense of urgency. Proficient in reading, analyzing, and interpreting blueprints and schematics, with effective written and verbal communication skills, and working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Windows Server, and Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with security systems manufacturers such as AMAG, Software House, Loronix, Prowatch, Gallagher, Lenel, AEOS, or GE is advantageous. Ability to perform maintenance tasks and produce all necessary reports and documentation. Knowledge of common network protocols such as TCP/IP and experience troubleshooting networks, including LAN and WAN. Capacity to work independently while managing multiple projects and priorities. Understanding of test equipment (e.g., Bert testing, cable analyzers, Sniffer).
