Job Description

We are seeking an experienced AI/ML Developer to join our dynamic and innovative team. As an AI/ML Developer, you will work closely with our RAAS research team to develop advanced machine learning models tailored to climate multi-hazard risk assessment. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Preprocessing and preparing diverse datasets for ML models
  • Designing, developing, and implementing machine learning models using established frameworks
  • Experimenting with and fine-tuning model architectures and hyperparameters to improve performance and scalability
  • Optimizing model performance and efficiency
  • Integrating machine learning models into existing software systems and digital twin platforms
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest AI/ML research, tools, and techniques
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A PhD or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related research field
  • Proven experience in machine learning model development, feature engineering, and model evaluation
  • Strong proficiency in Python and key libraries such as numpy, pandas, xarray, scikit-learn, and matplotlib
  • Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Keras
  • Experience with geospatial data processing tools and GIS analysis
  • Solid understanding of (geo)statistics and the ability to work with climate or environmental datasets
  • Excellent knowledge of English language
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
