Job Title: Logistics Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Specialist to join our team at Https:/Www.Energyjobline.Com/Sitemap. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all logistics activities, including planning, sourcing, transport, shipping, customs clearance, warehousing, inventory, stock movement, asset, and fleet management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all logistics activities, including planning, sourcing, transport, shipping, customs clearance, warehousing, inventory, stock movement, asset, and fleet management.
  • Monitor timely transmission of pipeline and logistics information, stock levels, and distribution status to national-level programs.
  • Participate in planning meetings for operations requiring logistics support.
  • Oversee logistics operations and transport planning to ensure efficient, cost-effective distribution as per schedule.
  • Supervise warehouse activities and logistical support for receiving and distributing inputs for FAO projects/programs.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen logistics operations and partnerships in the humanitarian supply chain, including, but not limited to, the logistics clusters during emergencies, ensuring FAO interests are prioritized.
  • Maintain accurate logistics filing systems for audit purposes (equipment manuals, maintenance schedules, waybills, invoices, etc.).
  • Ensure accurate and consistent use of FAO standard logistics forms by all relevant parties (inspection companies, transporters, vendors, field staff).
  • Provide technical advice, identify opportunities for innovation, and contribute to SOP development.
  • Oversee commodity management, quality control, and inventory management, tracking stock movements from warehouse to distribution.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate accounting, internal control systems, and documentation management.
  • Coordinate with FAO units, service providers, and partners for safe and efficient operations.
  • Anticipate logistics risks and disruptions (security, infrastructure), develop countermeasures, and support end-to-end supply chain analysis and knowledge-sharing activities.
  • Coordinate with customs authorities to ensure logistics movement and obtain necessary authorizations.
  • Organize contingency planning, capacity-building for local staff, and field missions as needed.
  • Participate in and report on coordination meetings.

Requirements:

  • University degree in engineering, business administration, logistics, supply chain management, finance or other relevant.
  • At least 2 years (Category C), 5 years (Category B) or 10 years (Category A) experience in humanitarian, agricultural/rural development and/or public sectors including work experience with national and international NGOs, UN agencies, governments and/or donors.
  • Working knowledge (level C) of English.

Selection Criteria:

  • In addition, depending on the location of assignment, working knowledge (level C) of another FAO language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Spanish and Russian) may be required.

Technical/Functional Skills:

  • Work experience with an international humanitarian or development organization.
  • Work experience in more than one location or area of work, particularly in field positions, is desirable.
  • Extent and relevance of experience in logistics management, including transportations operations, risks and emergency logistics preparedness.
  • Extent and relevance of experience in preparing and managing transport and project budgets.
  • Data analysis.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Experience to manage a team.
  • Ability to deliver outputs by agreed deadlines, sometimes at very short notice.
  • Ability to establish effective working relations with persons of different national and cultural backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with the humanitarian architecture and the areas of mandate of FAO is desirable.
