Job Title: Underwriter Property

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Underwriter Property to join our team at AXA XL. As an Underwriter Property, you will be responsible for reviewing submissions, calculating risk premiums, and providing excellent customer service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing submissions, including applications, policy wording, inspection reports, loss runs, and financial reports, to determine the degree of risk for each account.
  • Calculating appropriate risk premiums by considering risk costs, reinsurance cessions, and underwriting and general administration costs.
  • Providing proactive advice, assistance, and service to clients on insurance and risk management matters.
  • Effective relationship management to initiate opportunities for cross-selling and account retention.
  • Controlling timely implementation of new and renewed accounts according to quality standards.
  • Supporting business planning and forecasting, monitoring financial exposure, and monitoring premium income.
  • Maintaining awareness of all claims advised and supporting the settlement of claims.

Requirements:

  • Experience in underwriting in the Property line of business.
  • Good industry knowledge and awareness of factors affecting the market.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in English and Italian.
  • Ability to understand stakeholders' needs and concerns and identify points of agreement.
  • Knowledge of selling and negotiation techniques, with the ability to adapt to the customer's situation, needs, and behavior.
  • Analytical thinking, with the ability to perform fact and data-based analyses and make swift and efficient decisions.
  • Ability to work in a team with colleagues of different seniority and expertise to achieve collective goals.
  • Appreciation and proposal of new and creative ideas, taking practical considerations into account.
  • Knowledge of new trends and business transformation.
