Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Senior Property Underwriter to join our team at MSIG Insurance Europe AG.

  • As a Senior Property Underwriter, you will be responsible for underwriting profitable business in accordance with MSIGEU standards, processes, rules, and principles.
  • You will analyze risks, calculate premiums, and compile data for referrals, as well as negotiate wordings and bind new business.
  • Additionally, you will participate in meetings and individual appointments with clients, prepare proposals for underwriting decisions, and monitor portfolios for commercial requirements.
  • You will also be responsible for adapting underwriting strategies, risk appetite, and pricing policies, as well as determining reinsurance requirements in close cooperation with the Head of Property.
  • Furthermore, you will work closely with the Claims Department to improve the underwriting process and support the Head of Property and other Underwriters in relevant activities.
  • You will also be responsible for planning business development, expanding new and existing business, and providing an efficient service to clients and brokers.
  • Finally, you will participate in strategy discussions and perform special tasks, such as developing new products jointly with the Head of Property.
Requirements
  • An Engineering, Business Economics, or Law degree.
  • Several years of professional experience in Underwriting or handling Property Business.
  • Experience in Power and Utilities operational business, including renewable energies, is a plus.
  • High analytical and systematic thinking skills.
  • High self-motivation and resilience.
  • Ability to work under pressure and cooperate with a team.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to think entrepreneurially.
  • Confident handling of common MS Office applications.
  • Good knowledge of the English language.
