Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Property Underwriter to join our team at MSIG Europe AG. In this role, you will be responsible for underwriting profitable business in accordance with our company's standards and guidelines. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Risk Analysis: Conduct thorough risk assessments to ensure accurate and informed underwriting decisions.
  • Rating and Premium Calculation: Utilize our rating tools and premium calculation processes to determine appropriate premiums for new business.
  • Data Compilation and Referrals: Compile and review data for referrals, ensuring that all necessary information is accurate and complete.
  • Tender Preparation and Negotiation: Prepare and negotiate tenders with clients, ensuring that all agreements are fair and reasonable.
  • Wordings and Documentation: Examine and negotiate wordings, binding new business and preparing relevant documentation for transfer to the Underwriting Assistant's Department.
  • Portfolio Management: Monitor and manage the portfolio, ensuring that it remains profitable and in line with commercial requirements.
  • Business Development: Participate in business development activities, including planning and implementing strategies to expand new and existing business.

Requirements

  • Qualification: Engineering or Business Economics or Law Degree.
  • Experience: Several years' professional experience in underwriting or handling property business, with a preference for experience in power and utilities operational business, including renewable energies.
  • Skills: High ability to think analytically and systematically, high level of self-motivation and resilience, ability to work under pressure, cooperate and communicate effectively, and think and act entrepreneurially.
