Job Title: Senior Property Underwriter

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Property Underwriter to join our team at MSIG Insurance Europe Ag. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for underwriting profitable business in accordance with our company's standards, processes, and principles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough risk analysis and rating tool/premium calculation to ensure accurate and profitable business decisions
  • Compile data for referrals, prepare tenders, and negotiate with clients to secure new business
  • Examine and negotiate wordings to ensure optimal coverage and risk management
  • Bind new business and prepare relevant information for Underwriting Assistant's Dept.
  • Participate in meetings and individual appointments with clients to discuss underwriting decisions and portfolio management
  • Monitor the portfolio to ensure commercial requirements are met and implement corrective measures as needed
  • Adapt underwriting strategy, risk appetite, and pricing policy to optimize business performance
  • Collaborate with the Head of Property to determine reinsurance requirements and improve the underwriting process
Requirements:
  • Engineering or Business Economics or Law Degree
  • Several years' professional experience in Underwriting or handling Property Business
  • Experience in Power and Utilities operational business (including renewable energies) is a plus
  • High ability to think analytically and systematically
  • High level of self-motivation and resilience
  • Ability to work under pressure and cooperate with the team
  • Good organisational skills and ability to think entrepreneurially
  • Confident handling of common MS Office applications
  • Good knowledge of English language
