Cold End Inspection and Packaging Performance Leader

We are looking for a seasoned professional to take on the role of Group Inspection & Packaging Performance Manager. This position is crucial for executing Vetropack's strategic objectives and ensuring top-tier performance in the Cold End processes, specifically in inspection and packaging across the Vetropack organization.

As the Group Inspection & Packaging Performance Manager, you will be instrumental in positioning Vetropack as a leader in the European glass industry, focusing on safety, sustainability, quality, innovation, and productivity. Your efforts will directly impact customer satisfaction through ongoing enhancements in production processes.

Reporting Structure: You will report directly to the Technical Performance Director and will not have direct reports.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct continuous analysis and optimization of inspection and packaging processes in the Cold End areas to enhance operational safety, effectiveness, product quality, and customer satisfaction while minimizing costs;

• Spearhead performance improvement initiatives across the organization to meet strategic objectives;

• Collaborate with Cold End managers and production specialists in a cross-functional environment to drive strategic goals;

• Define, analyze, interpret, and communicate relevant KPIs to evaluate process effectiveness in production facilities;

• Foster a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement within the organization;

• Oversee project management, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget constraints. Manage all project aspects, including setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring progress. Prepare high-level project reports;

• Manage budget and resource allocation within your area of responsibility;

• Design and implement training programs for inspection and packaging processes, promoting best practices across the organization;

• Conduct regular audits of inspection and packaging processes to ensure compliance with established standards;

• Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, along with all company policies and procedures;

• Manage administrative tasks necessary for effective departmental management, including employee selection and development, production scheduling, budget management, cost control, and employee relations;

• Support the definition and standardization of production facilities and processes;

• Collaborate with various departments to maintain Vetropack's position as a benchmark in the European glass industry concerning safety, sustainability, quality, innovation, and productivity;

• Conduct thorough due diligence to support M&A activities;

• Maintain regular communication and knowledge exchange with suppliers and other container glass manufacturers.

Managerial Responsibilities:

• Lead team members in alignment with Vetropack's management policies;

• Operate effectively within a matrix organization while closely collaborating with production sites;

• Translate business strategies and company objectives into relevant departmental goals and KPIs;

• Cultivate a culture of engagement and continuous improvement;

• Inspire and motivate team members to excel and exceed expectations;

• Build a robust internal and external network;

• Provide technical guidance to Cold End Managers across all Vetropack facilities.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Proven ability to translate business strategies into actionable departmental goals and KPIs;

• Strong understanding of continuous improvement methodologies, with relevant qualifications or certifications (e.g., Six Sigma);

• Experience in building and developing successful teams, including coaching and skill assessment;

• Ability to act as a change agent, effectively communicating and challenging the status quo;

• Experience leading or coordinating performance improvement initiatives in a matrix organization, with budgetary responsibilities;

• Long-term strategic thinker with an opportunity-minded approach;

• Proven track record of high-level execution.

Qualifications:

• Higher education in a technical or mechanical field;

• 5+ years of experience in the glass industry, specifically in Cold End operations;

• 3+ years of project management experience in a similar domain;

• Proficiency in MS Office, CAD, and MES (Manufacturing Execution System) is essential;

• Knowledge of Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement Skills, and Quality Management is advantageous;

• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time;

• Proficient in English (C1 level minimum) in both spoken and written forms; knowledge of Italian and German is a plus.
