Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Space Debris Mitigation Specialist to join our team at Thales Alenia Space.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aerospace engineering or physics and experience in analyzing space missions and their effects on complex spacecraft.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze space environment characteristics and relevant requirements for specific missions with associated constraints and threats to the spacecraft
  • Evaluate and analyze space environment effects on complex space systems using 3D mathematical and geometrical models
  • Define detailed space environment system and lower-tier requirements and specifications
  • Develop mitigation and design solutions to meet customer needs

The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team that supports system-level projects and interfaces with agencies and customers. Strong communication skills, a proactive attitude in facing and solving problems, and a willingness to work in a team environment are essential.

Requirements:
  • Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering or Physics
  • Fluent English language skills (listening, reading, speaking, and writing)
  • Knowledge of mission analysis and space debris issues
  • Experience with CAD tools and modeling tools
  • Knowledge of computational languages (Fortran, C/C++, LabVIEW, MATLAB, Python)
