HVAC Technician

We are seeking a skilled HVAC mechanic to join our team at the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry (ADCRR). As an HVAC mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, repairing and servicing cooling and refrigeration equipment, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our facilities.

• Perform preventive maintenance tasks, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC repairs
• Diagnose problems and malfunctions in cooling and refrigeration equipment
• Schedule and plan maintenance-related projects, including material lists and equipment needs
• Conduct inspections and evaluate inmate workers' performance
• Inspect, maintain, and account for tools and equipment
• Maintain records and complete documentation/reports as required
• Drive on State business

• Knowledge of operating principles of various types of cooling, refrigeration, and ventilation equipment and systems
• Test equipment, tools, and procedures associated with diagnosing problems and/or malfunctions
• Procedures for inspecting, servicing, repairing, and installing cooling and refrigeration equipment and associated heating ventilation systems
• Basic reading and interpreting sketches and schematics
• Estimating costs and ordering materials
• Written and verbal communication
• Common safety practices
• Maintaining records and preparing reports

• Four (4) years of journey-level experience inspecting, servicing, repairing, and installing cooling/refrigeration equipment/systems
