Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Post-doc to join our team at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT) in Genoa, Italy. The successful candidate will work on the development of control and machine learning algorithms for robot autonomy in human-robot interaction.

Responsibilities
  • Theoretical and hands-on research on control and machine learning for HRI using fixed- and mobile-base collaborative robots.
  • Testing and validation of the algorithms and hardware solutions.
  • Supervision of PhD and MSc students.
  • Preparation of grants and support of the general activities of the lab.
Requirements
  • PhD degree with a strong background in one or multiple of the following topics: robot planning and control and physical human-robot interaction.
  • Strong skills on C++ and Python.
  • Experience with ROS.
  • Confidence with version control tools (specifically git).
  • A strong publication record.
  • The ability to properly report, organize and publish research data.
  • Documented experience in coaching junior scientists.
  • Good command of spoken and written English.
