We are seeking a highly skilled Post-doc to join our team at the Center for Robotics and Intelligent Systems (CRIS) at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT). The successful candidate will be part of a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group working on the development of control and machine learning algorithms for mobile collaborative robots in interactive tasks.
Main Responsibilities:- Theoretical and hands-on research on control and machine learning for Human-Robot Interaction (HRI) using fixed- and mobile-base collaborative robots.
- Testing and validation of algorithms and hardware solutions.
- Supervision of PhD and MSc students.
- Preparation of grants and support of the general activities of the lab.
- PhD degree with a strong background in one or multiple of the following topics: robot planning and control and physical human-robot interaction.
- Strong skills on C++ and Python.
- Experience with ROS.
- Confidence with version control tools (specifically git).
- A strong publication record.
- The ability to properly report, organize and publish research data.
- Documented experience in coaching junior scientists.
- Good command of spoken and written English.
- Experience with environmental, wearable and biomarkers sensing devices.
- Good communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving attitude.
- High motivation to learn.
- Spirit of innovation and creativity.
- Good at time and priority management.
- Ability to work in a challenging and international environment.
