About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Colocation Regional Engineer to join our team at Amazon Data Services Italy S.R.L. As a key member of our Data Center Field Engineering Team, you will be responsible for driving Mechanical/Electrical Engineering services, construction, and implementation of enterprise data centers that meet quality and performance levels across the globe.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with colo vendors to review the design for new Data Centers in your region, including design input, submittal review, and incorporating AWS products to ensure the design meets AWS expectations.
  • Act as resident engineer during new colo construction projects, supporting construction, commissioning, and handover.
  • Troubleshoot, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and create Corrective Action (CA) documentation for site/equipment failures.
  • Directly support operational issues with ad-hoc training, complex operating procedure reviews, including essential equipment, and event support.
  • Provide technical support to the design for existing data center upgrades and design-solutions, which add capacity, improve availability, and increase efficiency.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Cumulative 4+ years of experience with industrial or commercial engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience directly related to data center design and in-depth understanding of related critical equipment.
  • Basic understanding of both mechanical and electrical equipment/design related to data centers.
