About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Dispatcher Intern to join our team in Vado Ligure, Italy. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of containers to and from rail siding and external road traffic vehicles transfer area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all operations are executed in accordance with priorities set by the Shift Manager, reporting any problems and implementing agreed changes to resolve them.
  • Optimize the utilization of all equipment to maximize efficiency.
  • Monitor dispatch queues to identify potential clashes and delays in the yard.
  • Update the system with equipment identification on a continuous basis.
  • Manually dispatch work instructions not in an automatic dispatch queue.
  • Prepare reports requested by management.
Requirements
  • High school diploma and a college degree in Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Knowledge or interest in logistics, yard planning/layout, and container terminal operations.
  • Proactive approach to improve systems and procedures for operational efficiency.
  • High level of planning and organizational skills, combined with flexibility.
  • Able to work in a team.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills in Italian and English.
