Job Title: Satellite Navigation System Engineer

Thales Alenia Space is seeking a skilled Satellite Navigation System Engineer to join our team in Rome, Italy.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced engineer to support the execution of exciting programs, contribute to the acquisition of new business opportunities, and foster Research & Development activities in the satellite navigation domain.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the execution of programs such as GALILEO, Moonlight, and LEO PNTIod.
  • Contribute to the acquisition of new business opportunities.
  • Foster Research & Development activities in the satellite navigation domain.
  • Analyze and understand customer needs through advanced studies, simulations, mock-ups, models, and prototypes.
  • Formalize specifications and architecture used to propose the best solution/product to clients.
  • Prepare and carry out integration, verification, and validation tests.
  • Define test plans and procedures for system-level testing.
  • Ensure the technical integration and coherence of the system design, interfaces, and performances.
  • Design the architecture of the command and control system.
  • Demonstrate the solution to the customer.
Requirements:
  • A master's degree in electronic, telecommunications, computer science, aerospace engineering, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge about basic telecommunication principles (propagation error, access schema, modulations, etc.).
  • Familiarity with the usage of System Engineering Tools (e.g., MBSE Tools, Requirement Management Tools, Simulation Tools, Matlab, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Satellite Navigation and/or Communication Systems, with an experience on the field of at least 5 years.
  • Experience with leading engineering projects or activities.
  • Capability to adapt and react to change.
  • Distinct propensity to team working and problem solving, proactivity, and attitude to find innovative solutions.
