Job Summary:

Alliance Resource Group is seeking a highly experienced Senior Financial Operations Specialist to join our finance team in a temporary, interim role. This position requires a hands-on approach to managing the month-end close process, providing detailed financial analysis, and supporting audit preparation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close in accordance with GAAP
  • Prepare monthly journal entries for prepaids, accruals, amortization, fixed asset depreciation, ROU assets, and other financial areas
  • Review, prepare, and analyze accounting transactions and financial statements, assessing accuracy and providing variance explanations
  • Conduct in-depth operational analysis, including COGS, landed cost, and margin analysis
  • Assist in developing and implementing accounting policies and streamline the monthly close process
  • Support the year-end audit preparation and assist in maintaining internal financial controls
  • Provide backup support for Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R)
  • Report directly to the Director of Finance

Estimated Salary: $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This full-time temporary position is based in Venice, CA, with a hybrid work setting requiring 2 days on-site each week.

About the Position:

This interim role offers the opportunity to work alongside a supportive finance team, reporting directly to the Director of Finance. As a Senior Financial Operations Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of accounting experience with strong GAAP knowledge
  • Advanced Excel skills; ERP experience (NetSuite preferred)
  • Demonstrated success with month-end close processes and account reconciliation
