Position Overview

The role encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring effective pricing strategies and actuarial analyses within the Italian market.

Key Responsibilities

Pricing Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with various departments, particularly the Business Department, to evaluate all pricing proposals and analyze existing portfolios.
  • Participate in internal committees dedicated to Italian partners, focusing on business initiatives and experience reviews.
  • Lead the evaluation of the technical feasibility of marketing solutions.
  • Contribute to the development and modification of product offerings, including contracting, pricing, and new guarantees.
  • Review the work of junior actuaries to ensure compliance with the Underwriting Policy and relevant internal guidelines.
  • Conduct profitability and stress scenario tests, ensuring accuracy in all analyses.
  • Gather and analyze market statistics, benchmarks, and product-related issues.
  • Document new pricing and underwriting schedules for approval by the Actuarial Manager, maintaining a comprehensive table of pricing assumptions by product.
  • Prepare and present Business Plans and Business Committee documents for internal validation.
  • Ensure completion of peer reviews and adherence to compliance processes.

Analytical and Project Responsibilities

  • Conduct client portfolio analyses as needed and prepare detailed client reports and presentations.
  • Collaborate with Reserving and Modelling teams to ensure a cohesive and efficient approach within the Actuarial Department.
  • Perform experience analyses and assist in updating pricing assumptions and evaluating pricing adequacy.
  • Lead or contribute to assigned projects, including tenders.
  • Prepare and contribute to various internal presentations and communications as required.
  • Mentor and supervise pricing analysts in their analytical and project work.

People Management Responsibilities

  • Partner with HR for the recruitment and onboarding of new team members, including CV reviews and candidate interviews.
  • Facilitate the development of direct reports through regular feedback and proactive performance management.
  • Manage the workload of direct reports, prioritizing tasks effectively while ensuring strong governance and accountability.
  • Act as a senior actuary to disseminate knowledge within the Actuarial Department.
  • Collaborate with the Pricing Manager and Branch Manager to enhance team engagement and motivation, fostering a positive organizational culture.
  • Drive engagement initiatives, providing feedback on results and developing actionable plans to encourage critical thinking and openness to new ideas.
