Electrical and Electronics Systems Engineer

D-Orbit is a pioneering company in space logistics and transportation, and we're looking for a skilled Electrical and Electronics Systems Engineer to join our Hardware Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical and electronic systems for our spacecraft.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electrical and electronic systems for spacecraft, including power distribution, communication systems, and control systems.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical and electronic systems with other spacecraft systems.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for electrical and electronic systems, including design specifications, test plans, and technical reports.
  • Work with suppliers to source and procure electrical and electronic components, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Participate in the development and testing of spacecraft systems, including electrical and electronic systems.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of experience in electrical and electronics engineering, with a focus on space applications.
  • Experience with Altium designer tool and Spice simulation tool.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and electronic systems, including power distribution, communication systems, and control systems.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • MSc degree in Electronics or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with state-of-the-art PCB design tools and methodology.
  • Proficient with high-speed, mixed-signals and power conversion design.
  • Proficient in using electronic lab instruments (oscilloscope, multimeter, spectrum analyser, power supply, electronic load, etc)
  • Knowledge of common electronic interfaces like CAN, SPI, I2C, RS-422, RS-485, Space-Wire, MIL-1553.
  • Proficient with common ECSS standard electronic analyses like PSA, WCA and FMEA/FMECA.
  • Knowledge of ECSS standard EMC and Sys design,
  • Knowledge of Space Power and Avionic Unit architecture
  • Knowledge of FPGA, microcontroller and SoC architecture is a plus.
  • Knowledge of RF system is a plus.
Language:

This role requires professional proficiency in English and fluency in Italian.
