Job Overview

At Space Industries | SI, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Engineering Manager to lead our hotel's maintenance operations. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to take on new challenges and make a real impact in the industry.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Oversee repair, maintenance, and engineering operations to ensure high standards of quality and efficiency.
  • Coordinate new projects, plan goals, and direct technical activities to achieve optimal results.
  • Analyze resource needs and market demand to determine project feasibility.
  • Maintain power tools and assist other tradespersons as needed.
  • Review equipment logs and take corrective action with the General Manager when necessary.
  • Keep inventory of engineering stores and monitor fuel consumption.
  • Ensure cleanliness and safety of plant and mechanical equipment rooms.
  • Review daily briefings and debriefings from Team Leaders.
  • Create and coordinate monthly training plans with the Training Manager.
  • Train staff on maintenance procedures and assist with repairs.
  • Modify installations to reduce material waste and ease future maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and cleanliness in work areas.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance in guest rooms and public areas.
  • Regularly inspect building safety features and operational equipment.
  • Manage preventive maintenance programs and energy conservation efforts.
  • Ensure operational fire, life, and safety systems.
  • Approve invoices and purchase requests for technical services and installations.
  • Ensure compliance with local and national codes, notifying the GM of non-compliance.

Qualifications:
  • 2+ years in a similar hotel role.
  • Experience in problem-solving, analysis, decision-making, and communication.
  • Prior engineering experience, preferably in hotels, with HVAC and plumbing knowledge, building code.
  • Familiar with procurement and scheduling programs.
  • Ability to troubleshoot effectively and work in challenging environments.
  • Fluent Italian and English are required.
