About the RoleThe Risk Officer (Finance) will be responsible for providing sound advice on financial risk policy and management practices, supporting effective risk-based decision making. The incumbent will assist the Director & Chief Risk Officer and the Lead Financial Risk Officer in making effective risk-based decisions to achieve the strategic goals of the Fund.
Key Responsibilities- Risk Business Partner: The Risk Officer will be a credible and trusted partner to client offices served and the Department/Division/Unit where assigned. The incumbent will support the Fund's risk strategy and plans, as well as model a commitment to financial integrity by acting as a responsive and constructive service provider with a focus on results.
- Financial Management: The Risk Officer will be responsible for maintaining financial procedures relating to the assigned operation, preparing information for internal financial and risk reporting, and for IFAD's Annual Financial Statements, as applicable.
- Partnership Building: The Risk Officer will contribute to the development of financial and risk policies through simulations and enhancement of financial models, build simulations on a range of likely scenarios reflecting IFAD's current and future resources and financial positions, and analyse simulation results and identify key inputs for information on resource mobilization priorities/opportunities.
- Agent of Change: The Risk Officer will understand and contribute in applying the principles of change management and proactively serve as a role model for transformation and positive change.
- Managerial Functions: The Risk Officer will be accountable for integrity, transparency, and equity in the personal use of assigned IFAD resources, including equipment, supplies and, as applicable, staff supervised.
The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of finance and risk principles, concepts, and systems, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The Risk Officer will be responsible for producing various reports to stakeholders and others interested in the activities of the Fund, and will contribute to achieve RMO work plan goals and objectives.
Working RelationshipsThe Risk Officer will work closely with various stakeholders, including Country Office staff, internal audit officers, and evaluation officers, to ensure the effective implementation of risk management rules and procedures.
