At MainStreaming S.P.A, we are seeking an experienced Network Operations Engineer to join our team in Milano Bicocca. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network operations and engineering, with a focus on configuring, monitoring, and maintaining network devices, connections, links, peerings, and BGPs.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Configuring, monitoring, and maintaining routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices;
  • Managing and/or optimizing network connections, peerings, and BGP routing;
  • Implementing and maintaining network configurations to ensure optimal performance and security;

This role requires a high degree of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.

Key Responsibilities

In addition to the above responsibilities, the successful candidate will also be required to:

  • Monitor network alarms and respond to incidents swiftly to minimize downtime;
  • Analyze network traffic to identify potential issues and bottlenecks;
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network performance issues and routing problems;
  • Develop and execute strategies to mitigate network issues;
  • Perform regular maintenance and upgrades to ensure network reliability;
  • Collaborate with other teams to address complex network problems;
  • Conduct network capacity planning to ensure scalability and performance;
  • Execute network upgrades and expansions based on capacity requirements;
  • Monitor network capacity and optimize resources for efficient utilization;
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, topologies, and procedures;
  • Provide detailed reports on network performance, alarms, and incident resolutions;
  • Evaluate industry standards and best practices in all network operations;
  • Be available to provide on-call support as needed to address network issues outside of regular business hours;
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Telecommunication, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field;
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in Telco network operations and engineering;
  • CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent certifications;
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF), routing, and switching;
  • Experience with network monitoring and analysis tools;
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills;
  • Flexibility to work out of business hours;
  • Strong communication and documentation skills;
