Key Responsibilities

As a Strategic Management and Control Specialist with the Department of the Army, you will be responsible for ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of the Managers' Internal Control Program (MICP). This includes developing and implementing command policies, directives, and other guidance related to risk management and management controls.

Key Tasks:

  • Ensure programs, operations, functions, and administrative processes are operating effectively and efficiently to safeguard resources against waste, loss, or misappropriation/unauthorized use.
  • Develop and maintain Internal Control Evaluation Plans (ICEPs) and conduct SETAF-AF Risk Assessments to coordinate the Managers' Internal Control Program MICP evaluation phase.
  • Establish and maintain a Managers' Internal Control Program MICP tracking system to ensure deficiencies are corrected and follow-up actions are taken on the improvement opportunities.
  • Provide inputs to and advise command principles on Joint Reconciliation Program (JRP) requirements.
  • Work with the SETAF-AF Budget and Accounting Division to ensure all Funds Holder-assessable key supporting documentation (KSDs) are accessible for inspection.
  • Prepare and present formal and informal oral and written reports and brief a variety of personnel and command groups to provide details and status of MICP throughout SETAF-AF.

Requirements:

  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
  • You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship.
  • Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction 1315.19.
  • Must be able to satisfy the requirements of the 26JUL12 DODI 1400.25 V1230, DoD Civilian Personnel Management System: Employment in Foreign Areas and Employee Return Rights.

Qualifications:

  • Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience in developing and implementing command policies, directives, and other guidance related to risk management and management controls.
  • Experience in ensuring the effectiveness and efficiency of the Managers' Internal Control Program (MICP) is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of financial management and operations, including budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting, is required.
