About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Bioinformatician to join our team at the Human Technopole Foundation. As a key member of our research group, you will play a crucial role in providing computational support for projects focused on the high-definition modeling of neurodevelopmental disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain reproducible and well-documented bioinformatic pipelines for the standardized analysis of internal and external single-cell multi-omics datasets.
  • Support researchers and collaborators by performing bioinformatic analysis and providing advice on the best-suited statistical models.
  • Design and implement innovative analysis tools from the international scientific community.
  • Collect and curate relevant internal and external single-cell datasets, ensuring their annotation and metadata are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Contribute to the development of bespoke data portals and data navigation/visualization solutions.
  • Communicate complex statistical results to a diverse range of collaborators, ensuring they understand the implications and context.
  • Maintain and document software, adhering to best practices of software engineering.
Requirements
  • MSc in a quantitative field (bioinformatics, computer science, statistics, mathematics, physics, engineering, or similar).
  • 3-5 years of proven work experience in a data science/software engineering related role.
  • Extensive knowledge of at least one programming language (Python, R, Java, JavaScript, C++, C#, MATLAB).
  • Proficiency in code versioning systems (e.g., git, SVN) and familiarity with container technologies (e.g., Docker, Singularity, Podman).
  • Fluency in English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD degree and/or years of work experience in a data science/software engineering related role.
  • Experience in bioinformatics workflow systems (Nextflow, Snakemake, CWL).
  • Previous experience in single-cell omics dataset analysis and an interest in neurobiology.
  • Expertise in web frameworks for data visualization, dashboards, database, and data management.
