Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Ordnance Equipment Mechanic to join our team at U.S. Army Europe And Africa. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the Common Remotely Operated Weapon Station (CROWS).

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on CROWS systems, including complicated tasks that require skilled workmanship.
  • Remove, adjust, or replace defective or worn parts and components, including seals, shaft sealing rings, wiring harnesses, and engine components.
  • Use precision measurement equipment to identify specific tolerances and references points and maintain dimensional accuracy.
  • Assemble repaired items and equipment and set up test configurations in accordance with appropriate specifications and instructions.
  • Perform functional, operational, and acceptance tests to evaluate performance characteristics and compare test results with established parameters.
  • Conduct monthly surveillance, Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services, and apply Modification Work Orders to all CROWS assigned to Army Prepositioned Stocks.
  • Work with Equipment Specialist and/or Equipment Inspectors to identify and correct all faults, ordering and installing parts to maintain the equipment to standard.
  • Overhaul and repair CROWS computer, targeting, and hydraulic systems.
  • Train other maintenance personnel on CROWS operation and servicing.

Working Conditions

The incumbent will work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of responsibility. The work will be performed in a variety of settings, including indoors and outdoors, and may require working in confined spaces or at heights.
