Job Description

We are seeking a talented Junior Structural Engineer to join our team in Pistoia, Italy. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for defining in-line test specifications, fatigue test specifications, and data analysis for next-generation projects.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Definition of in-line test specifications and fatigue test specifications
  • Data analysis and data collection for next-generation projects
  • Studies of repair solutions for problems emerged on vehicles in service
  • Collaboration with project groups (internal and external) and development of assigned activity part
  • Design referent for internal and/or external resources involved in the team addressing vehicle problems
  • Independent verifier for new car and bogie projects
  • Concurrent engineering with production and service department
  • Follow-up of production in prototyping phases and validation tests of car register and bogies
  • Support of operative checks and/or repairs of body and bogies of vehicles in service
Requirements:
  • Master of Science or technical degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in railway vehicles projects in an engineering role as mechanical engineer, preferably structural fatigue and experimental data analysis
  • Availability for short domestic and overseas trips
Desired Skills:
  • Basic knowledge of 3D modeling (in CREO), 2D drawing (CREO and Autocad) and FEA software, HBK Ncode, or similar software
  • Basic knowledge of welding processes using in carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum alloy structures
  • Basic knowledge of structural fatigue

Education / Qualifications:
  • Master Degree in Engineering (Mechanical is a preferential title)
Language:
  • Knowledge of written and spoken English at least B2 level
