About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer to join our Data Platform organization at Zillow Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and supporting data platform infrastructure, collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and provide solutions, and mentoring junior data engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and deploy data infrastructure systems, including data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to understand data requirements and provide solutions.
  • Mentor junior data engineers to ensure knowledge transfer and growth.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering and apply them to improve data platform systems.
  • Work closely with the Data Governance team to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in software development with a focus on data engineering.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, C++, etc.
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, container orchestration platforms, and data infrastructure systems.
  • Strong understanding of data governance and compliance principles.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
