Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Center Operations Specialist to join our Engineering and Facilities team at Amazon. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of our electrical and mechanical infrastructure in our Data Centers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety
    • Ensure the highest safety standards are maintained and promote a world-class safety culture.
    • Collaborate with other teams to remediate safety risks and issues.
  • Engineering and Facility Operations and Maintenance
    • Operate and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment, including UPS's, Switchgear, Circuit Breakers, ATS's, Diesel Generators, Chillers, HVAC, Exhaust Fans, VFD's, and Transformers.
    • Troubleshoot events within internal Service Level Agreements (SLA's).
    • Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds/log-taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.).
    • Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance.
    • Manual handling and lifting of equipment may be required (weight limits in accordance with health & safety regulations).
  • Qualifications
    • Professional or formal Electrical Certification or Apprentice/trades certified or diploma in an Electrical field.
    • Demonstrate key electrical competencies (Practice & Theory) & knowledge of mechanical systems (Mechanical, HVAC systems, Controls).
    • Very good command of English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Data Center/mission critical engineering experience.
  • Will to travel between data center sites, and internationally if required.
  • Driving license valid in Italy.
