About the Role

O-I is seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) professional to lead our EHS activities in our San Gemini plant. As an EHS Lead, you will be responsible for planning and leading EHS activities, ensuring compliance with legal and corporate requirements, and developing programs to improve EHS performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • EHS Compliance: Identify legal and corporate compliance issues, develop and implement solution plans, and advise plant management on their legal obligations.
  • EHS Performance Improvement: Identify and implement programs to improve EHS performance beyond legal requirements, offer support and guidance during EHS incident investigations, and monitor corrective actions.
  • EHS Management System: Ensure an established and active EHS Management System meets local and corporate requirements, maintain ISO14001 status, and establish/maintain GMF procedures and standards.
  • EHS Culture: Offer technical and regulatory support to staff, develop and execute training programs, perform internal audits/inspections, and build relationships with internal stakeholders.

Qualifications and Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Relevant university degree (i.e. Environmental Engineering).
  • H&S qualification/professional membership (i.e. NEBOSH diploma, CMIOSH).
  • At least 2-3 years of experience as EHS professional in a heavy manufacturing company.
  • Italian CEFR level C2/Native, English CEFR level B2 or above.
