Job Description:

As a key member of the Hitachi Energy USA INC leadership team, we are seeking an exceptional Global Business Leader for Grid Edge Solutions to drive profitable growth and optimize business success on a global scale.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the Grid Edge Solutions Business
  2. Strategy Leadership: Develop and implement business strategies for profitable growth, supporting the group strategy
  3. Budget: Prepare annual operating plans (budgets) and be accountable for their execution and achievement, holding primary profit & loss (P&L) responsibility, including top-line and bottom-line targets as well as return on capital and cash flow
  4. Market Leadership: Continuously develop and manage the products, solutions, systems, and service portfolio to achieve and secure market leadership globally
  5. Competitiveness: Drive new business activities and start-up initiatives, ensuring competitive design and operation of the value chain/global footprint in line with market specifics
  6. Global Mind-Set: Optimize business on a global scale, taking advantage of the Group's local and global resources and its global reach
  7. Organization: Define, in close consultation with corporate, and the countries and regions, an appropriate organizational structure to support execution of the business's strategies, aligned with the corporate goals, imperatives, and guidelines
  8. OHS & Integrity: Ensure Hitachi Energy Group Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) and integrity standards are maintained throughout the business area and act as a personal role model for the organization
  9. People Leadership: Build and foster high-performing and collaborative teams across diverse cultures, environments, and economic situations
  10. Live Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent and a minimum of 10 years in the energy sector
  2. Alternative energy experience, renewables, and energy storage, a plus
  3. Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
  4. Demonstrated capability in providing leadership in a strong collaborative team environment, driving performance through leveraging the contributions of high-performing technical talent and experts with varying functional expertise and across multiple locations
  5. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills at an enterprise level
  6. Excellent leadership and communication skills with experience in building and managing teams of cross-functional experts
  7. Strong technical operations experience leading a global business with a diverse location footprint across the globe
  8. Experience leading effective change management and executing transformational initiatives
  9. Effective leveraging broad networks inside and outside of the organization
  10. Demonstrate behavior at the executive level to embody Hitachi Energy's core values; Harmony, Sincerity, and Pioneering Spirit
  11. Understanding of LEAN or Six Sigma practices and how those practices can be utilized for operational efficiency
  12. Strong track record of successfully delivering innovation to market and driving results using design thinking or similar methodologies
  13. Full product/solution development lifecycle experience including Agile methodologies
