Job DescriptionWe are seeking a talented Junior Software Developer to join our Advanced Scientific Computing (Asc) division. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of data management solutions for handling large and heterogeneous climate/environmental data sources, including the implementation of AI-driven algorithms, dashboards for Decision Support Systems, and mobile Apps for fleet management and forest health monitoring.
Key Responsibilities- Develop data management solutions for climate and environmental data sources
- Implement AI-driven algorithms for predicting and fighting natural hazards
- Design and implement dashboards for Decision Support Systems
- Develop mobile Apps for fleet management and forest health monitoring
- M.Sc. degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent fields
- 2+ years' experience in scientific software development
- Proven experience in programming with Python and knowledge of Python scientific libraries and tools
- Experience with platforms and frameworks for building web applications
- Experience with the design and management of relational and non-relational databases
- Experience with version control system tools
- Experience with Linux environment
- Experience with SDK Android and Xcode for iOS
- Experience with the development of algorithms and software tools to process data acquired by drones, video cameras, and satellite images
- Knowledge of Object-Oriented design and programming
- Knowledge of domain-specific Python libraries
- Experience in handling large datasets
- Experience with containerization software
- Initial appointment period of 12 months with the possibility of contract extension pending positive evaluation
- Tenure can be granted from 3 to 4 years after being appointed as a junior researcher
- Gross annual salary range from 28 to 36K Euros, depending on qualification and working experience
