At Ecolab, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced SHE Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing, evaluating, and monitoring all activities to minimize risk or hazard to safety, health, security, or the environment for our operations in the Nichelino Plant.
The SHE Specialist will ensure compliance with local legislation and all relevant notifications, safety report standards, and formulation of supporting documentation, emergency response planning, and organization. This role requires a strong team orientation, self-starter, and highly motivated individual with a practical, flexible, and involved approach to providing SHE support and services at all staff levels and locations within the Eastern Hemisphere business unit.
The SHE Specialist will be responsible for:
- Ensuring legal compliance relevant to all applicable national regulations.
- Promoting the Ecolab Goal Zero safety culture and establishing strategies to ensure a safe working environment at all times.
- Minimizing SHE risk within the location through working with functional teams to reduce risks in operational activities through development of associated SHE standards, operating procedures, and assessments.
- Developing and implementing a continuous improvement strategy for SHE ensuring employee engagement and participation.
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining SHE systems relevant to ISO9001 standards.
- Carrying out accident/incident and near-miss investigation, monitoring, and tracking of corrective and preventative actions.
- Ensuring policies and strategies are in place to achieve location and regional SHE annual goals and objectives.
- Providing advice and support to all staff in order to achieve and maintain the SHE objectives and standards.
- Establishing and revising SHE procedures and guidelines and periodically reviewing existing procedures as required.
- Developing and providing SHE training programs to all staff within the site and wider business as relevant.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor or higher degree level in Safety or Environmental Engineering or in other related fields, a minimum NEBOSH General Certificate, and practical experience and/or a well-developed understanding of operating within a COMAH regulated site, preferably in a processing environment.
