Job Summary

Hitachi Rail is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, integrating, and documenting electric designs using computer-aided engineering tools.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Naples, Italy, and is part of a fully integrated, global provider of rail solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, integrate, and document electric designs using computer-aided engineering tools.
  • Sizing electrical lines with optimization of equipment cabling to reduce assembly time.
  • Analysis of specifications identifying details that discern a working plan of the customer starting from the information provided and elaborating the feasibility.
  • Definition of the conceptual solution and architecture of the Electrical System, based on the requirements and vehicle configuration.
  • Verification and traceability of requirements using DOORS.
  • Support to purchasing department during the procurement phase of materials and subsystems.
  • Support to industrial engineering and production department during the vehicle assembly phase.
  • Support to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers, and customers throughout the product life cycle handled in Global Product Lifecycle Management (GPLM).
  • All other responsibilities allocated from Reporting Manager.

Requirements

  • Proven electrical design experience in electromechanical industries (preferably Railway Domain).
  • Excellent readiness of Electrical schematic and drawings.
  • Knowledge of computer-aided electrical engineering tools (preferably SEE Electrical).
  • Knowledge of the MS Office suite (Excel, Word, Visio, Access).
  • Knowledge of electrical manufacturing processes.
  • Commitment to working as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Italian mother tongue is mandatory.
  • English language (multi-cultural environment).
  • Ability to manage and plan the assigned tasks independently and team-working.
  • Ability to analyze business requirements, problem-solving attitude, and business process analysis.
  • Ability to face different internal functions (internal customer) and external (suppliers, customers, partners).
  • Planning and organization.
  • Versatile in learning and strong desire to remain up-to-date with changes in technology and best industry practices.
  • Strong business acumen and technical skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attitude to work in an international and multi-cultural reality.

Education and Qualifications

Degree in Electrical/Electrotechnical Engineering. Good knowledge of written and spoken English is mandatory.

English language knowledge on at least international C1 level.
