We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Milan, Italy. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing 3D models and detailed drawings using CATIA V5.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, and a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering would be a plus. You should have strong knowledge of mechanical principles, structural analysis, and materials, as well as experience with 3D CAD software CATIA v5.

We offer a competitive salary of €60,000 - €80,000 per annum, depending on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, pension scheme, and paid vacation time.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop 3D models and detailed drawings using CATIA V5.
  • Create and modify complex assemblies and parts to meet project specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams to optimize product designs.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and simulations to ensure design integrity and performance.
  • Generate and manage technical documentation, including design reports and BOMs (Bill of Materials).
  • Perform tolerance analysis and ensure adherence to industry standards and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical support throughout the product development cycle.
  • Ensure compliance with project timelines and deliverables.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering would be a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical principles, structural analysis, and materials.
  • Experience with 3D CAD software CATIA v5.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Previous working experience in aerospace or avionic sector.
  • Appreciated knowledge and experience in FEM tools and algorithms implementation through Python programming language and/or Matlab.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Demonstrated capability to perform effectively under pressure.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
