Job Summary

The Food Security Cluster is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Emergency Response Coordinator. This position will be responsible for coordinating the cluster's emergency response efforts, ensuring a timely, coherent, and effective food security response to humanitarian crises.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement emergency response strategies, in consultation with cluster partners and stakeholders.
  • Conduct needs assessments, analyze data, and provide situational updates to ensure effective decision-making.
  • Coordinate with partners, authorities, and affected communities to ensure a coordinated response.
  • Identify capacity gaps and provide training and capacity building opportunities to cluster partners.
  • Support the mobilization of resources for an effective and sustainable coordination.

Leadership and Management

  • Serve as a key advisor to the Food Security Cluster management on all matters related to emergency response coordination.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a substantive team to enable high performance.
  • Take responsibility for an equitable and inclusive workplace.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field, such as international development, humanitarian affairs, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in emergency response coordination, humanitarian affairs, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of success in coordinating emergency responses, including experience with cluster coordination.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and management skills.
