Job Title: Emergency and Rehabilitation Officer

FAO is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Emergency and Rehabilitation Officer to support the implementation of its resilience agenda at the global, regional, subregional, and country levels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research and analysis of technical, food, and nutrition security assessments, emergency response, policy-related, and/or funding/project-related data and information to support the delivery of programme projects, products, and services.
  • Produce various reports, proposals, programme/project documents, position papers, policy briefs, financial/donor reports, and critical information for inclusion in governing body reports.
  • Participate in project teams, collaborate in project and programme formulation, and provide technical and/or administrative support to ongoing operational emergency and recovery projects.
  • Liaise with FAO technical departments and other UN organizations to obtain and/or exchange information regarding food and nutrition security assessments, emergency, and recovery activities and other related issues.
  • Provide technical/administrative support and promote best practices to Decentralized Offices.
  • Monitor and provide support to resource mobilization activities, including corporate appeals, donor macro grants, CERF/SFERA submissions, annual appeals, and mid-year reviews, maintain information, and prepare related reports.
  • Maintain and update information systems, databases, and web pages.
Requirements:
  • Experience in public and/or private sectors related to programming, planning, and technical cooperation in food and agriculture, including experience in developing countries, especially in countries vulnerable to disaster or other emergency risks.
  • Results Focus, Teamwork, Communication, Building Effective Relationships, and Knowledge Sharing and Continuous Improvement.
  • Work experience in more than one location or area of work, particularly in field positions, is desirable.
  • Experience in humanitarian contexts is required.
