Senior Consultant - Environmental and Permitting Specialist

Erm seeks a motivated senior consultant with experience in environmental impact assessment and permitting.

You will join our growing and successful capital projects delivery team, supporting our clients to achieve their strategic goals and growth objectives at every stage of a capital project.

As part of the team, you will support the delivery of large-scale capital development projects, including for oil and gas, renewables, and infrastructure sector clients.

This is a truly exciting opportunity to make an impact through your day-to-day work as part of multidisciplinary project teams and network with Erm's global marine science and impact assessment technical communities, sharing resources and best practice approaches across the industry.

We offer flexible working arrangements and, although our main office is in Milan, we accept applications from candidates based anywhere in Italy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting and helping manage large, multidisciplinary, national or international projects such as renewables, hydrogen, CCSU, diversified energy, and infrastructure projects.
  • Contribute technical, subject matter, or project management expertise on permitting strategies, due diligence reviews, and impact assessment deliverables (EIA, ESHIA, VIA).
  • Demonstrating strong analytical skills, excellent writing, and presentation skills.
Requirements
  • Motivated to proactively contribute to a team environment, and share knowledge, skills, and ideas.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in environmental science, engineering, or related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a consulting environment.
  • EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) experience.
  • Excellent language skills (English and Italian mandatory).
  • Excellent report writing, data collation, and management/presentation skills.
  • Geographic Information System experience is a plus.
  • Enthusiasm, initiative, flexibility, and a desire to work in a growing team.
