The European Indirect Tax Specialist will be responsible for VAT compliance and general indirect tax support to the business in the European region.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor & analyse changes in country indirect tax laws, regulations & case law to ensure appropriate and timely actions are taken.
  • Actively support finance/tax projects that require more in-depth VAT knowledge and/or international cross-border knowledge
  • Contribute to know-how development of the VAT compliance team
  • Handling the VAT/Intrastat compliance function for Bakelite's European operations.

This implies working closely with the Finance, Trade compliance, Logistics, Supply chain, A/P, A/R, C/S departments and other business partners.

Achieving Excellence:

  • A clear focus on avoidance of any potential VAT exposures.
  • A clear focus on optimizing incoming and outgoing VAT payments.
  • Provide timely and accurate response to VAT queries from corporate and business colleagues.
  • Support country tax audits.

Requirements:

  • Min 3-4 years' experience in indirect tax (consultancy company or in-house)
  • Solid experience in VAT compliance
  • Fluent English written and spoken
  • Excellent communication skill across various organizational levels
  • Understanding of ERP VAT set up (SAP specifically) will be an asset, but not required
  • Bachelor degree with a specialization in Tax
  • Impeccable integrity and ethics
