About the Role

Thales is seeking a highly skilled Work Package Manager to join our team in Gorgonzola, Italy. As a Work Package Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of development work packages consistent with commitments in terms of cost, schedule, performance, and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Project Planning and Organization: Plan, organize, control, and monitor activities and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
  2. Risk and Opportunity Management: Identify, manage, and monitor risks and opportunities to master the Estimate at Completion (EAC).
  3. Progress Meetings and Reporting: Conduct regular progress meetings with the engineering team, analyze progress metrics, and make decisions to ensure project progress.
  4. Engineering Project Dashboard: Share the Engineering project dashboard with Project Manager and Head of Discipline, including progress vs forecasts, EAC, workload, and resource needs.
  5. Continuous Improvement: Pace a short continuous improvement loop into the development strategy, covering target setting, retrospective/retex, root cause analysis, identification and execution of actions, and measurement of results.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have solid experience in Program or Work package management in Development equipment activities, including experience with PERT and GANTT practices, resources allocations, Risks and opportunities management, and associated tools.

The candidate should also have leadership, communications, and negotiation skills to ensure the commitment of the teams on the work packages outcomes. Experience in engineering development processes, including agile development, earned value management, and Lean approach, is desirable.

Language Skills

Fluent English language skills, both written and spoken, are required.
