Job Summary

Belmond Management Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bar Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our luxury bar. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in managing high-end bars, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences, quality assurance, and financial metrics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of bar operations, including staffing, scheduling, training, health and safety, license management, inventory management, supplier relations, and menu development.
  • Assess the bar's organizational structure, processes, and tools to ensure alignment with strategic priorities and targets.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance performance from an LQA and guest experience perspective, and develop solutions to drive improvement.
  • Elevate the bar menu, taking pride in the hotel's history while thinking progressively and developing new beverage concepts.
  • Lead, train, and coach the bar team to achieve exceptional guest service and foster a culture of growth, development, and performance within the department.
  • Assist in preparing the bar's budget and support projects across the business as required.
  • Ensure licenses are updated and in line with current legislation, and comply with safe working practices and Health and Safety policy.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Head Barman/Head Barlady or Bar Manager in a luxury destination bar.
  • International work experience is desirable.
  • Extensive knowledge of quality spirits and wines.
  • Excellent understanding of classic and modern cocktails, their recipes, and history.
  • Exceptional people-management skills to successfully manage and motivate the bar team.
  • Positive, cooperative, adaptable, and effective communication skills.
  • Able to multi-task and work well with deadlines.
  • Strong computer literacy, including knowledge of Microsoft tools.
  • Fluent in Italian and English, both written and verbal.
