WFP is seeking a highly skilled Food Security Analyst to support the organization's efforts in assessing and addressing food insecurity around the world.
Job Summary:The Food Security Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the development and implementation of food security assessments, as well as providing technical guidance to country offices on needs assessment and data analysis.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the planning and implementation of food security assessments in emergencies
- Provide technical guidance to country offices on needs assessment and data analysis
- Develop new guidance and update standard WFP guidance notes based on research results
- Support the development of WFP methodologies to needs number estimation
- Build WFP capacity to converge several food security outcomes to estimate food security needs
- Provide support to IPC analysis and other interagency analysis platforms
- Support the data standardization processes and promote the use of standardization materials and platforms
- Master's degree in social science, geography, economics, statistics, development, international relations, or related field
- 7 years of work experience in a relevant field
- Strong communication and technical writing skills
- Knowledge of food security conceptual framework
- Strong experience in data management and standardization
- Proficiency in statistical software packages (minimum SPSS, STATA optional) and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
The Food Security Analyst will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with frequent travel to country offices and participation in emergency responses.
