Project Engineering Manager

ThyssenKrupp nucera Italy is a leading company in the design and supply of electrochemical plants for the production of green hydrogen, chlorine, and caustic soda. With over 20 years of experience, we offer new-build and service solutions worldwide.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineering Manager to oversee the execution and coordination of engineering tasks for a specific project. The successful candidate will lead a team of engineers, ensuring the successful delivery of projects within scope, budget, and timeline.

Main Responsibilities
  • Ensure efficient communication and collaboration among engineering teams;
  • Achieve project engineering targets and milestones defined in the project schedule;
  • Define and implement measures to address discrepancies in time, budget, scope, efficiency, etc.;
  • Ensure compliance with engineering-related HSE requirements and local regulations;
  • Report to the project manager on the status of coordination and decision-making regarding engineering tasks;
  • Ensure the nominated personnel provide the overall technical quality, integrity, and adequacy of all design engineering work within the project budget and schedule;
  • Coordinate engineering meetings, reporting, and milestones;
  • Provide input for an integrated and comprehensive project schedule, resolve schedule-related engineering issues, and establish engineering recovery plans as required;
  • Define and coordinate engineering application tools, including data transfers;
  • Assist in technical risk assessment according to project risk management rules;
  • Ensure product safety requirements related to product design;
  • Ensure applicable codes and standards and regulations are available;
  • Coordinate engineering deliverables, assure document control, and define documentation format and structure;
  • Ensure procurement support during the engineering phase, site support for construction and commissioning, and coordination of engineering activities on site;
  • Develop and/or adapt the execution concept for the project together with line management and project manager if required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (or a related field);
  • Master's degree is a plus;
  • Proven experience of 10+ years in project engineering and management roles;
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
