Financial Controller for Manufacturing Operations

The Finance Manager is a critical role within the Brush Group, responsible for ensuring the accurate recording and reporting of financial performance. This position requires effective liaison with external specialists to guarantee statutory financial and tax reporting compliance.
Main Responsibilities include:
- Accurate financial transaction recording: Fixed Asset register management, VAT reporting, Inventory transactions, and payroll processing.
- Contact person for auditors and statutory reporting.
- Monthly financial closing activities.
- P&L reviews and Balance sheet reconciliation.
- Monitor compliance with Brush Group policies, including DoA & supply chain policies.
Key Collaboration:
- Providing key metrics and information to leadership.
- Participating in company strategy, reviewing Capex projects, and growth plans.
- Verifying and approving vendor and customer commitments through Delegation of Authority.
- Cash flow forecasting and maximisation with the leadership team.
- Resource utilisation monitoring.
Leading Financial Planning Activities:
- Managing Budget and Forecast processes for the site.
- Producing standard variance analysis and ad-hoc investigations.
Supporting Growth Strategy:
- Leading changes in processes/systems to assess and manage financial reporting risks from operational growth.
- Overseeing financial aspects of capital investment – initial budget setting and approval, regular progress reviews.
- Supporting wider BRUSH Group initiatives.
Performance Indicators:
- Quality and accuracy of financial data.
- Clear and documented forecast.
- Cash Cycle.
- Cost saving initiatives.
Measures of Success:
- No audit findings.
- Variance actual to forecast traced back to specific assumptions.
- Debtor Days / Creditor Days / Working Capital Days.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Accounting qualification.
Skills:
- Fluent in English.
- Inventory management and valuation.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Able to prioritise and work under pressure.
- Process-driven, continuous improvement.
Experience:
- Experience in a manufacturing company.
- 10 years post-qualification experience.
- Financial modelling expertise.
Estimated Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum.
