Job Title: Senior Contract Manager

SMS group S.p.A. is a leading company in the steelmaking and non-ferrous material industry, with a global presence and a strong commitment to innovation and excellence.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Contract Manager to join our team in Tarcento, Italy. As a key member of our Project Management team, you will be responsible for managing commercial and contractual aspects of large-scale projects, working closely with international teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor projects from a contractual and commercial perspective, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Implement end-to-end contract management, financial management, project cost controlling, risk and claims management, and warranty administration.
  • Manage and coordinate contractually compliant communication with customers and contractual partners.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual stipulations in change order management and claims administration.
  • Develop Extension-of-Time strategies in accordance with contractual conditions.
  • Support in settlement of claims in relation with relevant company departments.
  • Participate in commercial and contractual negotiations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain project overview and ensure commercial project success.
  • Operate and update the Project Risk Management System.
  • Consolidate, analyze, and prepare monthly reporting of all contracts.
  • Carry out monthly project reporting to the steering committee and management.
  • Prepare and coordinate consortium contracts and commercial management of consortiums.
Requirements:
  • Completed degree in economics or a comparable qualification.
  • Several years of professional experience in a comparable work and industry environment, ideally combined with construction site experience.
  • Very good knowledge of commercial project management and international contract law.
  • Interest in commercial and contractual topics and affinity for numbers.
  • High social skills and ability to work in a team or leadership experience in an international commercial team.
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Fluent written and spoken English skills (knowledge of another foreign language is advantageous).
  • Analytical thinking skills and a structured and independent way of working.
  • Good knowledge of common MS Office applications and experience in dealing with SAP.
  • Resilience and flexibility.
  • Willingness to travel worldwide.
