Job Title: Data Management Specialist

Job Summary:

The Food Security Cluster is seeking a highly skilled Data Management Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Information Management team, you will be responsible for managing our data systems and providing technical support to our staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Database Management: Design, implement, and maintain our database systems to ensure accurate and efficient data collection and storage.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to our staff on data management and information systems.
  • Information Security: Ensure the physical and logical security and safety of our information management environment and infrastructure.
  • Project Management: Participate in project management and programme meetings to ensure effective data management and information systems.
  • Knowledge Management: Stay abreast of data management trends and best practices, and promote the use of collaboration tools for knowledge management.

Requirements:

  • Education: Advanced university degree in computer and data management science, software engineering, information technology management, business administration, or another relevant technical field.
  • Experience: Five years of relevant professional experience in information technology management and business operations in a large international organization.
  • Language: Working knowledge of English and limited knowledge of another FAO official language.

Technical Skills:

  • Certification: Certification and/or proven experience in information management and information technology competencies.
  • Work Experience: Work experience in more than one location or area of work is desirable.
  • Database Management: Extent and relevance of experience related to large database management and dashboard software.
